A complete school administration system that runs students, attendance, exams, fees, payroll and the library from one fast app. I rebuilt it from a Windows-only WinForms program into a cross-platform Avalonia desktop app with a companion web portal, on the same MySQL database.
From a Windows-only tool to a modern platform.
The original SchoolDB app was built with C# WinForms and MySQL. It worked, but it only ran on Windows, blocked the UI on every database call and stored passwords as plain text.
I extracted every SQL query into a clean Core library, made all data access async, introduced PBKDF2 password hashing, and rebuilt the interface in Avalonia UI with MVVM. A Next.js web portal and an ASP.NET Core API now share the same Core, so the rules for marks, fees and sign-in live in exactly one place.

Safer passwords

Photos decode through Skia and use the cross-platform storage picker instead of System.Drawing.
Live theming
16 colour schemes repaint the running app instantly, with an embedded Inter font so it looks identical on every OS.
Print-ready documents
Result cards, fee vouchers, receipts, date sheets, timetables and ID cards, all generated by the app.
Data bugs fixed
Fixed a delete that could remove several students sharing a roll number, and made risky promotions opt-in.
